Illinois...

Maybe someone else would like the info. I didn't know if you were doing a wekend get away or what. Seeing I am just off the Missouri border I do most things there..... Illinois forgot about their southern folk :gig We have to go to other states.
It's probably cheaper in other states too. Although, Indiana is certainly no cheaper for apple picking and pumpkin patches in my experience. Indiana border (down I-80) is the closest for me.

Used to be one at pilcher park in Joliet but it's not listed yet.... maybe they aren't having it because of covid

Southern Illinois has plenty of exciting things to see. There seems to be a prison every third town :old :gig.. We camped outside of Menards Prison,, There was a tour of a Historic home by the campground. There was also a restored old cemetery with grave markers from over one hundred years before.
I LUV :love Illinois caverns. They were closed for a while,,, but my understanding is,,, they reopened.

Now the real beauty,,, GARDEN OF THE GODS:thumbsup and FERN CLIFF state park:highfive:
I like activities that do not charge entrance fees. OH,,, almost forgot to add Giant City ,,, Hiking, rappelling, and rock climbing.
I can go on and on and on:old

LOL The one in Missouri is closer to me. I also go there because it is where I grew up and I have family around. Those seem to be some neat places I will have to look into. Thank you. Oh if you don't mind I will just drive past the 20 prisons I will be passing on my way to the other things :lau.

I applied a coat of Minnwax Colonial Maple to the bird house. DS told me all the spots I needed to stain. :old It need a few coats of clear for water protection, but will be ready for Spring migrants.

DS is the only one at my house looking forward to the upcoming snow. Planning a quiet day at home tomorrow.

Currently, there's been a crazy amount of melt today and the backyard is flooded.
Here the ditch is almost over it's bank.... the creek is ok so far

Well here are my Hog Day greets to everyone here..

But we live closer to Woodstock IL (where they made the movie “Groundhog Day”). I doubt their little rodent would even come outside in all this snow. My chickens certainly didn’t!

So what does that mean? Is spring cancelled this year?
