i'm afraid my eggs won't hatch, help me calm down a bit :D

They may keep you waiting until day 20 if they've been a little on the cool side, but it's hard to know without a calibrated thermometer. Here are instructions on how to calibrate your thermometer (at least it will give you something to do while you wait): https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...incubator-thermometers-and-hygrometers.73634/

You can still candle if you feel you need to (to set your mind at ease) in the next couple of days but be very careful about where/how you hold them (over something very soft is always a good idea) but also because you need to keep them in the same position they are lying in in the incubator, as otherwise you can move the chick or confuse it by accident and it could end up in the wrong position to hatch successfully. Just before they internally pip you may see the membrane under the air cell flexing. If they have internally pipped there will be a little shadow beak in the air cell.

You'll find yourself staring at them every 5 seconds of the day willing something to happen. That's completely normal.

also, double checked, seems to be a cold spot the termometer is into, the spot where all the eggs are is at the right temp it seems. Still crossing my fingers though, hopefully everything goes alright! :D, also not gonna candle them, i dont wanna risk it just to fulfill my curiosity :D, i'll just wait and keep adding water as needed, and if it happens, it happens.

oh, also, i'll attach a couple pics of the incubator i'm using:

update! we are at day 16 (counting from day 0) the humidity was going down a little bit so i opened the incubator up to add some water. I also candled 4 out of the 15 eggs just to see what to expect, and to my surprise, 3 out of those 4 had a dip on the side of the airsack, which means they are close to hatching out right? :D

another question came to my mind, is between 50% and 60% RH good for lockdown? my incubator can't go over 58% for some reason, and i have no way to put towels or sponges since the grid with the eggs has already been placed down :D
