the fun part is i actually used 4 thermos and 2 hygrometers other than the builtin ones to calibrate the temps and humidity, next time i'll use a new bator, non-digital thermos and non-digital hygrometers, hopefully it'll go better i'll send you some pics of the 2 little guys that hatched successfully tomorrow , a question i have is, one of the two is like double the other, can this mean they are a male and a female? or is it because one hatched a day later

It's amazing how much they grow in a day, plus some are huge and some more petite. What colour are they? Some colours you can sex by 3 weeks, but others you have to wait and see if they crow or lay an egg.

So cute! Your first one is the Pharaoh colour and by 3 and a half to 4 weeks you should know if it's a boy or girl. They all start off looking spotty chested but the males then start to get a rusty red coming through. Females have brown spots on a cream background. Sometimes you get an odd boy who will have a spotty chest but he will have red in the spots (red is a strictly male colour in quail).

Your larger baby is a gold/Italian and by about 3 weeks you'll know if it's going to be a boy or girl. Girls get spotty chests, boys go orangey with no spots.

Fingers crossed for two of the same sex as Coturnix don't usually do well as a male/female pair. Males tend to need at least 3 girls (they can be too rough on just one hen) but occasionally you'll get a laid back boy who is a gentleman and is ok with just one girl.

update time! we are at the 2 weeks mark and they are growing really fast! today while i was cleaning the brooder, i weighted them, they are both around 90g, is that a good weight for 2 week old quails?

I have no idea it that is a good weight or not.
I'd say as long as they are eating well and growing they should be good!

I don't usually weigh my quail but that sounds nice and weighty.
