Three more days till my first real broody hatch, and she's hatching eggs from my winter hatch pullets. I'm so excited. I candled today for the last time, and they are all alive (3). I think one will be early, it is huge and fills up the shell. It's a Jersey Giant WCBP cross. The other two are same roo and are buff lace polish hens.

Oh, it's so exciting. I got my BO Clarisse from a hatchery as a 16 week old. To my surprise and shock, she was debeaked. The cut the top beak real short and the bottom beak shorter, but not as short as the top. It's really awful. It's so hard for her to catch a bug, eat grass, etc. I promised to make her life real happy, And now she's going to be a mom! She's very sweet, I could still kiss her on the head even broody.

What a great chicken. Even my nicest hens I wouldn't try that with. lol

Sem your gonna be swimin in chickens before you know it. good luck on the hatch.

One more day!!!! But I wouldn't be surprised if the Jersey/Polish peeped today, and the two Polish waited till the day after.
