I'm getting chicks! I placed the order!! ** GOT THE E-MAIL!! Pg.9 **

I'm gonna get D'Uccles, Bantam Silkies, and maybe Standard Buff Orpington. In total that will be 25 chicks!

Im thinking in getting 10 St. Run D'Uccles, 10 St. Run Bantam Silkies, and 3 Standard Buff Orpington females and 2 Standard Buff Orpington males. The only reason I added Standard Buff Orpington in there is because they get broody most of the time and I wanted to hatch a lot of Silkies and D'Uccles without using a bator! I don't want the bantam version(lol) of the BO because not that many eggs fit under them compared to the Standard ones. So I need your opinion because I don't know which kind of D'Uccles, and Silkies to get!!!!!

Should I get the Mille Fluer D'Uccles or the Porcelain D'Uccles?!?!?!? Should I get the White Silkies or the Buff Silkies!?!?!?!?!?!? Please give me your opinion

Sounds like fun Skitz. I don't have any bantams (mine are all standard), but I do have a couple of BO Roosters and a couple BO hens. They are nice and friendly chickens. My "Alpha" or top Rooster is actually a BO. I also have a White Giant, Black GIant, RIR, and Light Brahma Rooster(s), most of which are bigger than him... but he still top dog.

I think though you are going to run into some major problems with your ratio of Roosters to hens. I have about a 1 to 12 ratio and I still have some hens that have had most of their feathers 'removed' by all the mating. You very likely will have to end up separating your roosters, or putting 'saddles' on all your hens to protect them.

As if you can't tell from the breeds I have in my signature line, I like variety in my chickens and my egg basket.

And don't forget the partridge silkies!

10 Mille Fleur d'Uccles (St. Run)
5 Standard Buff Orpington (2 cockerels, 3 pullets)
5 White Black Tailed Japanese (St. Run)

So what do ya think!?
