I will certainly need good luck with the Javas. I may even let them rest a bit before I put them in, but I don't have any place cool to store them, so a few hours after I get them I will put them in. I have my incubator holding steady at 99 and my humidity is 60%. I also gave it a good cleaning this morning. Advice, anyone?

Hi! I just ordered 6 Bantam Cochin eggs for my broody to hatch. They are coming Thursday, but today my girl was off her nest!!!!

My be a bator hatch if she doesn't get back on...and I ordered because she wasn't getting off her nest...LOL!! Mind if I join in?

I just got mine started. 4 bantam & 7 regular eggs. We'll see what pops out.

Thanks! So exciting! I hatch eggs in my classroom every year, but this is the first time I am doing it at home just for us! I lOVE Bantams...what kind of Bantams did you get?

Me too. I'm 72 hours into my first incubator hatch. Feeling nervous.. like I'm going to mess it up. Sure is easier when the hen does all the work.

I have always used an incubator and I am TOTALLY nervous about hatching with a broody...LOL!!!

Check temp every 10 minutes when your home.
Keep making eggsuses on why you need to candle at 72 hours.
You'll surf incubator hatch stories and second guess your methods. Then read and reread hatch stories.
The temp will spike 1/2 a degree just before work, you'll go in late, come home for lunch and make excuse to leave early.
Day 20 you'll keep listening to the eggs and looking for rocking.
First pip you'll call friends and family and begin posting on BYC

Then comes the proud parent part.

So.... Have I missed anything?
