I'm getting the itch. Anyone want to hatch some eggs?

Oo, went to transfer to brooder and the latest little wellsummer's cord was snagged and has what looks like a small hernia. No blood, pinky red bump like a big belly button... Put a makeshift divider in brooder to stop others pecking. Much more I can do? Antiseptic wipe? and see If it reabsorbs? Fuzzy love xx

Yes, forgot about my Polish Rooster. That makes 3 roosters with hens. Australorp rooster has the most followers. Buff the second and ,of course, the Polish coming in a far distant third. Eggs on shut down. Tomorrow at 5 p.m. will end 21st day. Planning to photograph. First time Polish in mix. Have 2nd hatch scheduled for middle of August. Only using my eggs.

I hope it heals. I'm sorry, I'm not experienced with helping chicks with these problems. I hope someone can help you. Keep us updated.

Yes, thinking of it, I have another rooster, a Polish. All my chickens free-range together, devouring June bugs as I speak.

I have been fighting it for the last week or so.. Got up this morning and plugged in the bator, just to see if it will hold temps mind you...

OK, so i let the shipped eggs sit with their fat end up in my basement for 24 hours. Now I have them warming up to room temp before placing them in the brooder this evening. When I candle before setting in the brooder, should I be able to identify an air cell?
