I'm getting the itch. Anyone want to hatch some eggs?

I have been fighting it for the last week or so.. Got up this morning and plugged in the bator, just to see if it will hold temps mind you...

I told myself I would let the broody's do it this year..........

LOL...living dangerously once you plug that bator in!!! Then it just starts whispering......Eggs Please????..LOL!

I have WAY to much time on my hands

I told hubby I was just testing it, it has been stored for sooo long without use.... I mean, seriously, 3 months is along time!!

Many peeps this morning. Humidity 63 Temperature 100.3. My wife and I tend to 30 plus maybe 40 chickens, when let out, chickens divide into three groups and go their separate ways on this 50 acres. Also have eight cats and one dog sleeping on couch. Probably, because I never know what I might do, empty incubator into brooder tomorrow afternoon. Will post pictures. Another hatch due August 14. Oh, and one noisy parakeet, that imitates chickens.

So I said yesterday that I plugged in the incubator...you know, just to make sure it was working....So reality set in and I unplugged it today, thought no, I promised myself I wouldn't incubate any more this year....seems I may not have too... Went out to collect eggs and I have a hen sitting ...didn't think much of it...went out a couple hours later...yep she still there...Kicked her off the nest and I thought she was going to go postal on me when I collected the eggs she was sitting on

seriously, I have never been attacked by a hen, but she came pretty darn close...

...placed some fake eggs in her "spot" she clucked and ruffled and got back on them...48 hour countdown is now on to see if she is serious...starting to save some eggs for her in case she is.. ....I love my life!!!

LOL..crazy broodies!!! I LOVE IT!!!! And who can blame you for helping a poor broody out and giving her some eggs????Right??

I know huh!!! I mean why should I NOT allow her what her body is telling her she must do... who will miss 3 or 6 or 12 eggs right

I actually thought my girls were done for the year, I got a spastic EE that keeps thinking about it, until that is I walk into the coop then she freaks out and leaves and wont come back, I refuse to let her have eggs.. But this new one.. She almost attacked me for cripes sake, I have never had a hen attack me lol

I was warned that chickens and hatching are addictive and boy is it ever!!!!!
