.. i'm grossed out.

I wouldnt give up on it yet...I have a LG still air, once I figured it all out..I got GREAT HATCHES from it.

WIth mine"
1. Ambient temp and humidity play a big role. I put mine in my pantry as it is in the center of the house with no windows/draft/etc. If the room is dry, I have to fill up the bator daily.

2. My temps took some time. I think a water weasel should be sold with it. In still air you have such a gradient of air that the temps on the wire are out 4 to 5 degress lower than thos at the top of the egg level. I have to have the top of the egg level at 103.5 to get my weasel (mimic inner egg temps) at 99.5. Before I figured that out, all my eggs were hatchin (if at all) on Day 24 or 25. Most didnt make it.

3. Hatching is an art form. You need to pick a bator and learn it. Now you know with this one, starting over will just be another trial run with a new bator.

4. Never trust the therm that comes with it. Get a therm that measures humidity also at Walmart for $7.

Good luck. It takes a couple tries. But once you know the ins and outs of hatching and your bator, youll have more chicks than you know what to do with!
