I'm hoping I'm not the only person here who sniffs their poultry...

I don't Really sniff my chicken's for any Particular smell.I Just know the one's I DO hold and nuzzle everyday never smell different.I have a Cage bird a Blue Front Amazon and He smell's Diff.He Bathe's an avg. of at least once a week but cage bird's bathe in water.Maybe I am Soooo Imune to the smell of my outside bird's.But I can go out sometime's early and have hen's in my lap or a roo while in robe or whatever.I know one of my silkie hen's has a small burr in her tail and will get that tomm.Im WAY over poo on my clothe's.My duck's have a totaly diff. smell though and I always know if they been sneaking in my one coop for more feed and water.Get a BILLY Goat PHEW lol. That you can smell way before he get's to YA.

Every night when I get home from work (I work swing shift), I let my geese in the house and they go to bed in my bedroom. I have to lift them into their night pen (a baby jail from Walmart) and I have to hold them and smell them before I put them in. I don't remember Petey Girl having an egg smell when she was laying, and I picked her up at least twice a day all during.

I love to smell their breath, especially after they've been eating fresh grass

I'm so glad I'm not the only one I love to take my cup of coffee out to the coop in the morning and hold my babies and just smell. Chickens DO have a sweet earthy smell to them. But also smells like.....................Chicken

Honestly I thought I was the only weird wad who loved the smell of their geese. I imagine that that is what angels smell like. You know because of the white wings and all.

I am allergic to my ducks and geese, but if Bella La Goosie climbs in my lap, I will happily trade several hours of sneezing for the opportunity to warm my hands in her wing-pits as I bury my face in her neck feathers while she preens my hair.
