I'm hurt :'(

there is NOTHING wrong with your braces... but something is wrong with him. People with class and self esteem do not go saying flimsy, critical things to others. He does not have the above, that is what is wrong.
Yes, it is unfortunate we cannot be honest with people and tell them it hurts when they say mean immature things like that, but Welsummerchicks is right....if you let him see it is getting to you it may cause further teasing.
I once heard of this thing where the victim of a taunt just kept saying "So?" forcing the taunter into the position of having to defend his defenseless position.
She just kept saying "So?" and sometimes "So? what's it to you?" and at some point "So? Apparently it IS a big deal to you, YOU are the one that brought it up"
It backed the taunter into a corner and he was looking like the jerk he is....
don't know if that could possibly help.
...and last, does he happen to have a crush on you? Guys can be mean to girls they actually like because sometimes some boys are real stupid at communication....
hang in there dear

When you get your braces off an your teeth are beautiful and straight and your smile is gorgeous (Which I am sure it is already!) go find him and ask him what's wrong with his teeth!

I always wish my parents would have gotten me braces

Speaking as someone who's had braces twice:

Haters will be haters. Bite them. Braces do more damage than teeth alone!

Hehe, seriously though. There's nothing wrong with braces. You'll be grateful when you don't have your mouth wired shut like an older cousin of mine who made fun of me for having them because his teeth are messed up. Who's living on thin soup through a straw now, Phil? Huh!? *eats a piece of steak*

You're beautiful and that's that. Don't let the haters get you down.

Our girl here sounds too smart to date someone who treats others like that! Hopefully this young man grows up and becomes date-able at some point.

The only reason I even met him was that a friend and I had made an event on facebook called "ban the "r" word" and he didn't like it

So, he was one of those 'scraping the bottom of the bucket and I found this guy' type situations.

I don't worry too much about what they say.

In the American South, I hear it's a tradition that when someone says something really awful and objectionable and just plain old idiotic, you look them in the face, pretty much how you'd look at a 3 month old baby when the proud parents were looking on smiling, and say, 'Well BLESS YOUR HEART!'

It's basically code for, 'you're AWFUL stupid, so stupid I ain't even gonna get upset about it'.
