I just keep 4-10 depending on size . I have fenced yard and they enjoy running all around it. The coop has a 40sf foot print with lot of roosting area. Its big enough so that they not too miserable should it take me a few hours to get out to open it. An older A frame serves as added hawk/day shelter..
Right now i'm hatching. I have some bantam cochins, Apenzeller Spitzhauben and one bielefelder. These I think will be added to the flock but not sure if the cochin babies will be able to adapt to the yard territory....These are just 3 weeks right now.. All so beautiful..
