of Silkies....Don't jump on me, just being honest. I love almost every creature that I know exists, and chickens especially....but...I don't get the Silkie thing.

I like the good old fashioned looking chickens, am I all alone here?

Ah, one whom the Evil Silkie Charm has not touched.

Watch out Lunachick, the forces will start to target you now that you have proclaimed this in public.

I think the Silkies are ok, it's the Naked Necks and Showgirls I just cannot even force myself to consider as chickens. [IMG] And then, to add insult to injury, somebody went and frizzled them!! [IMG] [IMG]

Funny thing is, I kinda like the way those NN's and their relatives look. Maybe it's the black void eye thing?

Buff - now I'm scared [IMG]

I think I'm immune to the whole silkie thing, too. (I realize that saying that is sort of a big 'kick me' sign, but I'll take my chances [IMG])

I think it's sort of like with my mother and horses. According to her (she is profoundly not a horse person), there are three colors of horses: auburn, horse-colored, and not horse colored.

To me, chickens gotta have chicken feathers, not marabou [IMG]

Eventually, I'll probably get some because the kids like them but they aren't a must have for me. I find the rare breeds more interesting.

You are not alone. I just prefer my chickens to look like chickens.[IMG]

I must admit, though, that bantams are growing on me!

I don't get the silkie thing either. Someone had a couple at the fair this year, so I got to see them up close and they are just balls of puff. Add to it that the bigger the poof, the harder time they have seeing and that they go broody constantly and I just don't know why someone would bother.

Same here. As much as I've tried to see the attraction, I'm just not a Silkie fan either.

The differences in what we all like are what make it interesting.
