I have good intentions on adding one silkie, but I don't think I'll get any more than that... well, ok, maybe one more.

I'm with you too Lunachick. I like the nice sturdy good ol' standards. The heritage breeds especially, but any good ol' honest chicken is fine with me. Of course, if a starving silky found my lot I'd help it, but probably find it a home. (what would be the point of culling it anyway? Can't be more meat than a sparrow on em!)

I have to admit, I like the Polish Poof heads, and will get some at some point, but I'm told they're not the nancy boys they appear to be, and thinking about it, Central Europe isn't exactly made for sissies, so they must be tougher than they seem .... I blame that attraction on me being of Polish heritage, plus, they've actually been around quite a while.

Ya know, I'm going to agree. Not a fan of the Silkie. I don't know why. Something just seems not right. I'm not a fan of the frizzles either for the same reason. But when i say I'm not a fan I mean I don't want to rush out and bring some home. I still admire their beauty, in a strange sort of way. I just figured it was because I grew up on a farm.

It's not so much how they look to me it's what they produce. I would much rather have a larger egg.
