I'm Just NOT a Fan !

I keep hatching them and then finding them new homes. They may be cute, but I haven't met one with a personality I really like. Either they're weenie cry-babies that freak out over every little thing, or they're aloof non-joiners that don't seem to even like other chickens.

But I can't stop thinking they're pretty when I see pictures, and wanting to try again

Had a frizzle NN hatch once and wasn't impressed. Saw a showgirl dyed pink at the fair, though, and thought 'hmmmmnnnn. I could hatch some of those!'

I saw some silkies up close and personal in a barnyard a couple months ago. Ugly, fluffy little things. Couldn't tell the head from the butt. I think I am immune to the dark side.

Of course, a year ago I said I would NEVER own chickens. Strictly a duck person, me.

I think they are adorable, but they are terrible layers. I have two, last year I had ten. I just kept the best two girls and everyone else went away.

Eh. They're cute when they're chicks...their colors are almost pastel. But after that...not a huge fan, either. I like "real" birds....like, Jersey Giants, Orpingtons...Cochins. You know. Big birds.
