I'm just not having any luck! Coyote Attack. Neighbors chickens too.

Am i the only one who is a bit surprised that the coyote (a "snatch and grab" predator, killed multiple birds and only took one? Its been my experience that a coyote gets in, grabs a bird and gets the heck out. You may want to think about dogs, even though you saw a coyote. Dogs tend to go in an main every bird they see. Just a thought.

Our coyotes do it all the time. We had them kill 6 turkeys, but only take 4 of them. We found 2 dead ones on our property, 2 piles of feathers on other properties, with various bits left behind, and 2 more trails of feathers leading to their den.

It depends on how many there are.

We also have skunks kill chickens and always leave behind the carcasses. They often eat the heads, the guts, or just suck the blood out, but one little skunk can leave behind 8 corpses if there is nothing to stop them, like a barking dog on its way over!
