I'm makin news...

Yes, this was the case with us as well. My husband had already interviewed 2 companies prior to their arrival, so he had a ballpark figure and knew how many inches the asphalt needed to be. They had no references, no contractor license. Just 2 guys from NC looking for extra work. We went with Rieno, a local guy who had legit references that we were able to drive to inspect their handy work

Call your local Attorney General. My mom got scammed on a "cement job", & after the Atty General called the "rip-off" guys, they returned $4,500 out of the $5,000 she paid them. It didn't cost mom a thing for the use of the Atty. Gen.

oooo...they are finding more stuff out says my reporter lady. I can't wait to get the low down on the 5,6, and 10 o'clock news. She's so cute...she told me to tune in so i could see my beautiful face.

...it's been soo long since someone was nice to me and told me something nice. ...stupid x's and thier abusive ways....

We had the same type of scam going on around here. They showed up a couple weeks ago and offered to pave my 200'+ drive with a large pad in front of my 3-1/2 car garage for $2000... I have already got an estimate a couple of years ago and it was well over $5000. I said thanks but no thanks, move along.....

Like others have laready said..... If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

I know but apparently it can happen...people get scammed. I was told not to be embarrassed and not feel bad...and hopefully we can catch this guy, prove he's fraudelent and get some compensation...according to the news crew, sherrif deputy, better business bureau, and state rep. that I talked to today.

My news reporter lady got a hold of the guy on one of the not fraudelent numbers left behind and he said he was willing to come back and do the drive again and give me some money back. She said, she found him wishy washy. *oh and if he can't do it right the first time, he's not going to come on my lot again and he better return my money. To him and his crew I say...kiss my asphalt!

I am filing a consumer fraud report with my attorney general and hopefully we have enough information to catch these guys and with me doing a segment on the news hopefully it will reach out to others to prevent further scams...at least in this neck of the woods.

OMG, I really did laugh out loud! I am so sorry for the scam that got pulled on you. Sounds like something that I would fall into, also. And the walking away and my butt waving bye bye at the camera IS my luck! Big hugs to you, and keep your sense of humor!

Maple, thanks for posting this. You may have helped keep someone else from getting scammed.
