I'm mostly here for the ducks...and also everything else. šŸ˜‰

Are your Pilgrims as gentle tempered as the breed is typically reported to be?
To me they are. But the rest of my family says they are jerks.( Well, at least they say my gander is a jerk in their opinion. )He’s doing his job protecting his family. And if they would just sit down and spend some time with them like I do, the geese would accept them too like they accept me.

Dangerous friends indeed. 🤣 Keeping waterfowl is kind of like an addiction that keeps getting worse....it's animal math, I guess. Just wait until I get an incubator lol. My first year with ducks, and I have three breeding pens I plan to set up. I am constantly dreaming up what to get next!

Thanks for the welcome!
Hahaha Duck math here we go!!!šŸ˜‚

Beautiful birds! I loved my geese when we had them and so so want to get more.

I am waiting for Dave Holderread's book "The Book of Geese" to come in the mail right now. Since I have wanted to read this book FOREVER and since I don't have the budget to add geese to my flock right now, I am super excited for this book to come!

Thanks for the introduction. I read your post somewhere else and got curious 🫣.
Nice to know who is in the discussion.
One thing missing. Your location, state or country in your profile.
No problem. Thought an intro might be a good idea.

I'm from Canada, but that's as specific as I would like to get. :) It's cold here! One of the challenges with winter & ducks is the constantly freezing water. Rubber dishes are a lifesaver.

Glad to meet you.

We had 22 Pekins at one point and want to get a few more.
I am pondering how far to expand my flock this year. I have it in my head that I would like to keep more duck hens. I have some planned breeding groups for this spring that I am excited about. Purebred Welsh Harlequins, Cayuga, and a sex-link cross that I am super excited to see how goes. I am thinking perhaps I will keep some of the offspring of this cross.
