Baby chicks sometimes scoot around for a day or two b4 standing. Sprinkle a bit of chick feed it can reach. Is that the chick that u helped hatch? Sometimes the ones like that take a bit longer to get on thier feet. U can out antibiotic ointment on the belly button if it seems weepy..that where the egg yoke was attached/absorbed.
See the little stringy thingys n the pic...that the cord/viens that were attached to the yoke/sacI think that's the vent
Sometimes they will have a bit of a problem but you'd be surprised how well they can get out with that much exposed membrane. And thanks for the compliment. I was tagged and had a private message asking me to check it out...lolHang in there with monitoring and give the baby some timeIts REALLY easy to start panicking and worry about them hatching out OK, but it is a process they go through...so hang in there
Try not to open the bator too much so the humidity stays up!
THANK YOU @AmyLynn2374 for checking into this thread! You are a great support to hatching!!! Will this baby be able to finish on its own with so much of the shell missing? Or will it need to be helped out the rest of they way when veins have shrunk?
That is soo true! After 3 years I still learn and refine my hatching techniques.YAY!!! Yes...keep updating! And no matter how long you have been hatching, it is always a learning processhave received a lot of great information, advise and support on BYC!!!

Guys I'm in love!!!
The vent is on the butt under the tail. This is the "navel" which should close up. Non pain relief antibiotic can be used on it to help keep out infection.I think that's the vent
