I'm new and one of my eggs is hatching and needed a Lil help but...

As long as the legs are not splayed (straddled) it may just need a bit of time especially considering the hatching circumstances. I hope he does well for you.

I just want to add that you don't have to invest a lot in hygrometers. Pet stores sell hygrometers in the reptile section for a couple bucks, just do the salt test on it to check accuracy. Any thermometers you use should also be checked for accuracy. I use wet sponges in my incubator at hatch time to raise my humidity as well as filling my water wells.

Good morning! Just watch the opening for any signs of infection, but it should close fully....and yes, sometimes babies take a bit to get to their feet and figure it out. You are good to put baby in the brooder now. If you have any nutria-drench you can give baby a drop:) How do your other eggs look this morning?
The other eggs are alive still and 1 had internal pip 3 more maybe 4 hard to see in the dark eggs were looking like they were trying to internal pip the rest are alive but not even there yet so an extra day maybe the duck had Ben sitting on them and the hens laid under her each day for awhile So I figure that's why some are later like this also it is normal of course
iI got the brooder set up and put baby #1 in and he or she is doing great walking eating drinking I'm proud then baby #2 and #3 came and they are also great and when they were dry n ready as the first was I put them in the brooder too
NNow here is my problem idk I'd u guys can help and I can't get my bf to let me make a 2nd brooder cause ethereal light bill n again we are poor
Anyway so I put them all together and I am aware of a pecking order early on n all that but baby 1 was attacking the others going right for their eyes over n over I had to remove him and he is happy about that cause he thinking his mom the others chirp at me when I handle them and baby 1 falls asleep on me but idk what to do he is hurting them and I do think it's a boy
Also peaches my broody hen who has 8 babies 4 weeks old has I think 6 roos and 2 hens but the roosters today are squaring up with each other lol its cute but concerns me cause it won't be cite when they grow more
So is this normal and what should I do

This is the hen who laid the 3 eggs who have hatched I showed u guys the rooster I wonder what they will look like
I would love to have pure bred chickens one day bit this is fine for starting out

What is the size of your brooder? You do want to make sure they have enough room or they will get grumpy fast! Can you make a bigger brooder rather than have 2? They will sass eachother no matter what...CRAZY chicken pecking order. But you want to make sure it is pecking order behavior and not a crowding issue post a pic of the babies when you get a chance! I am surprised your hen wasn't slurping up that mango drink for you:lau

It's about 3 foot long 2 foot wide it was my 1st incubator box I'm using now as the brood they have space it's just they are picking on each other I knew they did that but now at a day old lol peaches babies never did even when they were in a small area inside

Do you have a white light or red light in your heat lamp? I have never had an issue with white.....but others use the red to reduse aggression

The light in there is an energy saver one it's not to hot I can touch it after its been on forever and it doesn't hurt it feels nice but to be sure they won't be burnt I placed clothing pins from the outside laundry line on it as feet to hold it up a bit and it's working but it's a hot day

Just wait it out. The chick can breath and that is vital.
One of the hard lessons I have learned is that if they aren't strong enough to get out.... they aren't strong enough to survive.
Put a hot wet face cloth in your incubator to keep up the humidity.
Leave the incubator closed.
good luck... remember that we are all learning through trial and error.
