I'm new here & new to being a chicken mistress 😁 lol. I have a question about roos. I hope I'm posting in rite place ??

Yes, you could get more hens. But think first about how many chickens you want to have in total, and what size chicken pen you have or want to have. (And how much chicken food you want to buy.)

Another option is a bachelor coop--a place where only roosters live, with no hens at all. Sometimes that works well, sometimes not so well.

And every time chicks hatch, probably half of them will be males too. So you should probalby make plans for what you will do with those.

I don't know what the right answer may be, so I'm just trying to point out some of the things you might need to consider.

For now, start by letting the hen and chicks have one pen to themselves, with no roosters in the pen with them. That will keep them safe while you figure out the rest of it.
Thx so much. I didn't think of some of this. 🙂 However. We was planning on having 1 or 2 roos (if possible) & about 10 hens. We have coop & space for them. They r free range too 🙂

Welcome! Yes, if you could do a bachelor pad, I'd try that first. If not, I'd say maybe get really as many hens as you can (preferably at least 5 hens per rooster, more would be better). I completely understand about the pet thing, as that's mainly why I keep chickens, but if you really had no other options it might be *sigh* best to rehome a rooster. I agree with others here- you'll need a plan for any future roosters that may hatch. A bachelor pad would probably be good for this.

How many eggs are there under your broody hen? Imagine them all to hatch and at least half of them male...

How big is your coop and how much space do they have in their run?
Lots of space. & Coop is big enough for 15-20 chickens. I was told anyway. They are free range but have a large pen for safety if we not home. Missy is sitting on 16 eggs but the roos are all about 2-3 month younger so we thinking that most of the eggs not fertile. These are her 1 eggs she every laid & she wanted to sit on them so we let her. 😀 Idk how many will actually hatch. Lol

Sounds fun! This exactly what I hope to do once I can move somewhere with more space that allows roosters. How old is Missy? If the eggs aren't fertile, it could actually be a good thing though, as it means that for now at least you have a little more time to figure out what you'll do with any unexpected cockerels.

Yes. I am prepared to re-home if necessary. I just wanted to see if we could keep them if it's possible. We will build a bachelor pad 4 them. They seem to get along so far. I'm keeping fingers crossed. 🙏😁

Missy is only 7 months old now. The 3 roos are about 5 months now.

Thx every1 for all the help. U all help put my mind at rest 🙂 we will try a bachelor pad & we will build a little pen & coop for missy & the eggs. Should we move them b4 the eggs hatch or wait til after they hatch ??
