Welcome!

Are you incubating the chicken eggs in your fake bator too?

How are you adjusting the heat lamp?
Manually turning it on and off or do you have it plugged in to a reptile thermostat?

Hi
My name is Erica and I'm new here.
In May my husband brought home 3 duck eggs and 3 chicken eggs from a co-worker. I didn't realize the chicken eggs were probably fertile and my hubby ate them ... I stole the duck eggs!
I grabbed a 2 gallon tank, a reptile heat lamp and hygrometer, a finger bowl of water and set the eggs. 2 were duds... 1 is a very loved 6 week old duckling.

Now I am incubating 3 chicken eggs and 2 more ducks! I'm very excited to learn and share.
I'm sure if you can hatch in your tank you can probably hatch in most anything. Please post your results. A curious mind wants to know...

I'm using a Farm Innovators 4250 without the egg Turner. I wish I used my tank.. I'm not thrilled with the Bator.
When using my tank I just kept a really good eye on temp and humidity.. I adjusted the top I had on the tank to regulate heat and humidity... And the amount of water. :-)

Oh ok you got a 'real' bator for these new eggs, cool.

Just so you know they sell reptile thermostats that you could plug a light bulb or heat lamp into to monitor the temperature too if you use your tank again.
