I'm new to BYC

Maybe I should give a littleore background on myself.
My mom was a vet tech and bred exotic birds. African grey parrots, finches, canaries, lovebirds... So this is new for me, but again I have some background on hatching eggs. I was my mom's helper into my 30's.

Oh ok you got a 'real' bator for these new eggs, cool.

Just so you know they sell reptile thermostats that you could plug a light bulb or heat lamp into to monitor the temperature too if you use your tank again.

I will definitely be looking into that! Thank you!

My name is Erica and I'm new here.
In May my husband brought home 3 duck eggs and 3 chicken eggs from a co-worker. I didn't realize the chicken eggs were probably fertile and my hubby ate them ... I stole the duck eggs!
I grabbed a 2 gallon tank, a reptile heat lamp and hygrometer, a finger bowl of water and set the eggs. 2 were duds... 1 is a very loved 6 week old duckling.

Now I am incubating 3 chicken eggs and 2 more ducks! I'm very excited to learn and share.

Yes but it was an emergency situation and rushed...it did not work out for me.
