I'M NOT YOUR SWEETY!!!!!!!!!

I want to give you my perspective, having been in almost exactly the same "state" at that age. When I was 23 at 5'1", I weighed about 103 lbs., and people thought I was 16 years old. I used to resent the comments.

Now, at 46 I'm looking every bit my age and substantially overweight. You can't imagine how I'd like to go back to that body.

Your "problem" isn't really a problem, but I understand the frustration. You may miss these days in the future.

I hate being addressed by "pet names" and I grew up and have lived in the southern USA all my life. I used to be adamant about being addressed by servers as "hon", or "sweetheart",etc, and would quickly say "my name is............". It never ceased to amaze with at how many services TOOK OFFENSE at my comment.:

I managed restaurants for over 20 years and tried my best to be sure my servers did not address patrons by pet names...............it was almost a loosing battle!

I"ll never forget on instance when a female customer called me "darlin' " twice before I told her "my name is ..... and I that I did not like being addressed with pet names. About 15 minutes after she left the establishment I got a phone call from her. Furiously, she informed me she was not looking for a relationship, she simply wanted something to eat and she was considering calling my supervisor since I was sexually harassing her!!! Go figure.

Hehe. I know what you mean. My DH gets asked in fast food drive ups, what his daughter (me) would like. All while our three kids sit in the back seat! People accuse him of robbing the cradle all the time. He's one year older then me.

Oh, well, I really don't mind. I think at least I will look 30 when I'm 40! (hopefully...)

What bugs me, is the looks from people who think I am a young teenage single mom with three kids. Either disapproving, or sympathetic.

Or, they say, "Oh, my, you certainly have your hands full!" Three kids is not that uncommen, so I don't think tthe number is the problem. I hear that at least once everytime I go grocery shopping.
