I'm praying this is not Mareks...

Gosh.... It honestly could be any one of those things. He's lost all the quality of life, but he is just so full of life still. :( He's so cute when he chirps to me as I'm forcing water down his beak (

Tomorrow is the day that I'll decide. I can't leave him like this.

I see-- so he is not eating or drinking on his own? That is tough. I have tube fed/watered birds, before, and it led to recovery.. and one that died despite my efforts because the disease was too far progressed. If he is suffering, he is suffering, and do what you need to do. Make the best choice you can based on what you see. I know you will do what you think is best for him!

He didn't make it through the night. I was going to cull him this morning, but when I checked on him, he was dead. At least he isn't suffering anymore.

Thanks for all the help. It was very appreciated.

So sorry for your loss! Are you going to have him tested? I understand if not. It's a very personal decision with pets.

I can't send him in for testing, as I've already buried him.

Thank you all for the support you've given me. I'll miss the little dude. But at least he's not suffering.

i am sorry for your loss. i dont know how many of my poultry we have lost in the past 2 years. the first time i got a bunch of laying hens that were free range and one day 2 of my dogs (they were puppies) got loose and killed about 5. it was horrible finding some of my favorite hen's bodies on the ground.my dogs are broke from killing chickens now and they didnt know better at the time after all they were in training to catch hogs. then we had to put down 2 of my turkeys (i had 3 at the time) due to mereks.first it was my tom who's legs were completely paralyzed and my hen did the same thing. after that we purchased another turkey because the other just seemed depressed after loosing his buddies. the one we purchased was just a chick and one of our other dogs was trying to play with him and broke his leg.he healed and grew up but we recently had to cull them because they were bb's. and were starting to get big.
