I'm pregnant! (8 months along now, no longer morning sick!)

Thanks guys! And thanks for the offer of advice on breastfeeding. I'm sure I will need it! My wonderful neighbor is a doula who is also going to be helping me in that department.

Both of my boys were in their own crib in their own room from the start. With my first, we had a double bed in the room where his crib was and I slept on that the first few nights. I found however, that neither he nor I slept well that way. As soon as I went back into my room and left him in his, we both got more sleep. I always sat in a glider rocker to nurse so being in another room didn't make much difference to me since I would have gotten up to nurse anyway. I never did get the hang of nursing while lying down.

Edited to add: My second was such a noisy sleeper (snoring, grunting, you name it...), that we never would have gotten any sleep if he had been in our room with us. As it was, my husband wore earplugs to bed just so that he didn't have to listen to it all night long. We found out when he was four that all the noise (and it was a LOT of noise, not just the normal baby sleeping noises so don't worry if you hear grunts and groans while baby is sleeping), was caused by sleep apnea. We just thought he was a noisy sleeper!

Papaya extract chewables
Extra Vit. B6 and B12 (an extra B complex will do) take as needed...
Eat small meals throughout the day, keep soda crackers by your bed so you can eat right away when you wake up, BEFORE getting out of bed....

Try to find a local health food store for good vitamins, the OTC prenatals are really hard on your system and they can make you sick as well

And last but not least; CONGRATS!!!!

I used cloth diapers for all my kids and I tried everything, just for fun.

I agree with Andora! Most of the time I used an old fashioned pre-fold (make sure to get diaper service quality or DSQ) with a Snappi (instead of pins) and a cover. My favorite was probably Motherease Air Wrap. A good prefold will usually outperform fitted diapers in absorbancy and they wash/dry so much better.

I also liked Bummi Super Whisper Wraps - they hold the diaper nice and are very durable.
I love Imse-Vimse covers, but they're expensive.
I love Nicky breatheable Poly covers, very soft and strechy.

I did use some fitted diapers. Motherease are nice. My favorites were Cuddlebuns. I bought the Cuddlebun pattern and sewed a bunch.

Fleece liners are a great idea! I prefer the microfleece, but I agree with Andora - just go to the fabric store and buy some fabric and cut it yourself, the edges don't fray and you'll save a lot of money.

Co-sleeping:
I did choose to co-sleep. Read some of Dr. James J. McKenna's research on it, it was eye-opening. When you're right next to your baby, you both share a sleep cycle: so when you're in deep sleep, so are they and when you're in light sleep, so are they. They wake for feedings during light sleep and that's what makes night feeding so much easier, you're not being pulled from a deep sleep. You could nurse right there and fall back asleep while they're eating. Also, listening to you breathe helps them develop a breathing pattern. Overall, it's a personal choice and I know I was in the minority.

Oh, man, that sucks! I feel for you. I can't complain, I've had a really good pregnancy. The worst thing I get is really bad heartburn. I have to sleep on pillows propping me up so that all my stomach contents don't drive me crazy trying to escape all night. If I take a Zantac, the heartburn pain goes away, but that doesn't make the stomach contents stay down! Still, compared to what other women go through, that's nothing so I really can't complain.

As far as the diapering situation goes, I'm definitely using cloth for the first few months. I know, that's counterintuitive since they use so many more diapers early on than they do later, but I will probably have to put my kid in daycare after the third month, and the one that I can afford won't accept cloth diapers. It's not worth it to me to pay an extra $400 or $500 just to take him to a daycare that will allow them. Maybe if I have a stroke of luck somehow I won't have to go back to work and I can use cloth diapers the whole way through, so pray for something to come through! A new job where I can work from home would answer my prayers.
