I'm pregnant! (8 months along now, no longer morning sick!)

Today I didn't take my prenatal vitamin, and I didn't even come close to puking! Sure, I don't feel 100% like myself, but it's a great improvement over how I felt the last two days. So maybe that was the problem! If so, I'm going to have to learn to eat better, because I've just been eating the worst stuff since it's the most palatable stuff.

I had friends that were told to take childrens chewable vitamins since they had a hard time with the prenatals, was better than not taking any.....not sure if they still recommend it, you could ask.....

Yeah, I was wondering if I could do that today. I might take some before I see the doctor on the ninth. Sounds better than nothing to me too. I'm still feeling great after not having taken my pill! I didn't think that was the problem because I've been taking them for a month or more (off and on) and didn't have any sickness, but I guess once the hormones kicked in they got to be too much? It's weird but I guess it's probably the case.

So, I'm at about week 7.5 (I think) and boy are things changing. I didn't think I would feel much different this early into the pregnancy, but everything is different. The weirdest thing is I've lost my gusto for eating! I was so looking forward to gorging on whatever looked or sounded good when I got pregnant, and now that I am, nothing at all sounds good. I drink a lot of ice water with lemon and lime in it and I like sugary things like fruit popsicles. But as soon as I get down to business with a plate of good food, I can eat about two bites before I feel full and gross. I still force myself to eat about 10 bites of food, but I never get much more luck than that. And after I eat, I feel full to the hilt for the rest of the day, pretty much. Is this normal? Does anyone have advice on what foods might tempt me to eat something? None of my cheesy, meaty, starchy favorites are doing it for me, but light things like spinach salad (which I also love) don't sound appetizing either. Pretty much just water, popsicles, and maybe occasionally candy or soda (and I NEVER drink soda normally).

First off, Congratulations

Second: The appetite will come

I craved a cold cut toasted with mayo and to this day that is my total favorite thing.
I never ordered one before, and one day it hit me. You will have yours, but its still early.
You probably have to get through with the adjustments your body makes, then away you go

Thanks! I'm sure I've been spending so much money on food lately just trying to figure out what i want to eat and discarding most of everything, just to end up eating graham crackers.

Congrats!

Just a note on Prenatal's, I'm sure you know this, but a full stomach is a must when taking them. I have been taking them for 9 months (While Trying to Conceive) And I get really really sick if I take them on an empty stomach. Or if I take them right before bed, if feel sick to my stomach all day the next day. So try eating a big meal, then taking the vitamin, that way the vitamins are not the only thing in your tummy!

Of course that may all change once your actually pregnant?

Oh and could you send some baby dust my way?

I think I had taken a few of the prenatals on an empty stomach, and learned later that that is no good. I've been too afraid to take them again though, since now I do have real morning sickness. It's not too bad. The two times it has happened were right after I let the chickens out. I immediately started salivating and had to hold back the heaves until I could run in to the bathroom. No horribly big vomiting episodes, mostly empty heaves and burps. It's weird. After that, it goes away and I feel mostly fine for the rest of the morning.

Good luck conceiving!

I had the same problem with my last pregnancy, i found that early in the pregnancy, there was a prenatal that actually helped with the nausea and vomiting episodes. For the life of me I can't recall what it was. I was given samples, but my insurance didnt cover it...go figure, the only one that worked.
I know it was a pink pill....Sorry, If I can find out the name, I'll surely let you know, but you might ask your doctor about a different prenatal, there are so many available out there....ask about the pink one, lol. Some have alot of Iron and that can cause you to feel yucky.

As far as the eating, I never had that problem, LOL. I ate everything in sight, I did have to eat several small meals a day and snacks tho, cos I did tend to feel full after eating just a little bit at a time.

Congrats to ya and I hope things even out for you soon!

Take your prenatal with a healthy snack before you go to bed, such as healthy cereal(oatmeal, cherrios ect) and some milk, or some saltines and mild cheese, The carb and protein will help with the nausea and you will sleep better.
