this girl has an insatiable thirst. I'll put out, in addition to their normal water, a small dog bowl and she'll drink the whole thing in about 5-10 minutes.

I'm pretty sure she's molting. Eggs stopped, weight loss, irritability (normal), feathers EVERYWHERE. I don't see any new growth like those pin feathers but she is showing all the signs. Aside from that she seems healthy. No lethargy, comb is nice and red.

But this thirst thing concerns me. Could it be a symptom of molting? I mean she gets violent over water. This is not normal for her.

Thanks for the advice on the crop. I did check it last night and it was full and kind of squishy. So, I did a little research and followed some directions on how to further check it. So, I removed all food and water overnight. This morning her crop was definitely not as enlarged. It was significantly smaller but still had a squishy feel to it. also it didn't feel completely empty. It did get a lot smaller though. Is this a good sign? I'm not too experienced in this area. Her breath didn't really smell bad either.

I do now see the pin-like feathers coming in so I think the molting part of it is figured out. But man is she irritable.
