That’s probably Stargazer. It toddles around like a normal chick for a bit. Then stares up, then makes a preening motion that almost looks more seizure like, then dozes off, then the cycle repeats.One of them seems to be improving . . .at the back

8 weeks give or take I think.Don't quail only take about 8-12 weeks to mature, if I remember correctly?
Also, you have NO idea how relieved I was when I picked up the heat plate and didn’t find any dead chicks.View attachment 4286908I pulled out the feed tray, waterer and heat plate in preparation for removing the top layer of the blue towels (I have about five layers of towels in there. Figured it’s easier to roll up the top one for cleaning.)

You can keep light on them for year round production otherwise like chickens that they need a certain amount of light per day to lay and for the males to feel amorous.Do they breed during winter, or are they seasonal like chickens?
