The fist picture broody hen had just returned from a brief outing and is getting her eggs organized.
Next is my broody orphinton and another polish.

His a year old and I have seen him mount but is not for very long? She is still lying on them:p:jumpy I really hoping for baby's.when can I check them to see it only been two day now.

Chickens mating ritual does not take long lol. You can candle the eggs at 10 days to see if there is any movement. How many eggs is your broody sitting on? I as well am looking forward to babies! Good luck :)

Ok so I had five but two were not hers so I took them and she has three now.my other hen likes to lay her eggs in the same nest and I notice my broody hen gets out at that time and eats so they just change places for about a half hour .this is really going to be a long wait. Patience is not something I'm good at:fl

If the rooster was breeding that other hen too, you should have left her eggs in the nest with the other 3. Obviously if there is a day difference in the time the eggs were laid it will be ok the eggs will all hatch about the same time but I wouldn't go any longer than that. What day did your broody start sitting? I have some on the 21, 24, and the 27th with my 3 broody hens so I hope I get some chicks. I did get fertile eggs for my polish and just used my eggs for the orphinton and Hattie, I'm sure not all of them are fertile but a few should be. It is very exciting isn't it? Well best of luck, keep me updated.:D

Well the Roos is a fizzle and the other hens are L.B so I wanted to hatch fizzles and I'm getting marans eggs that are fertile hoping to put them under her tonight to hatch.
