I'm So Exciited!! Broody Hen

they are some goofy chickens, one goes broody and now they all want to sit, at times there are 6 piled in 3 nesting boxes.

I believe it this waiting is killing me.

Picture please these are the first that I have hatched.or should I say my hens have hatch.

Disappointing, it's only day 17 and one of my eggs have a hole in it. I'm not sure if it pipped or another chicken pecked it? There is definitely a chick in it but I don't know if it's alive, it doesn't smell so I guess I will wait. I need to get a scale so I can weigh my fertile eggs.

Oh no !,,I'm so sorry after all this time.now I'm worried I really do not need anymore hens but I really feel like a mom waiting for babies.hope the little one is ok ?

Well the egg was smashed when I just went out and checked. I have 17 more chances so I will keep my chin up.

Hello I have about 15 chickens and two roosters and two new chicks yesterday I started with 6 and they have raised all the young themselves . I have never separated the chicks from day one even though I have read that many people do and the flock seems to take care of then together . if more than one chicken has babies they share the babies and raise them together it is so adorable . The only thing that I notice is that the mother chicken will sleep separate from the flock in the pen with the babies till they are older. They usually sleep under the house .
