Well, I don’t watch my mom wash dishes anymore so I don’t remember how she does it. I know she uses a pan of soapy dishwater. My grandma always had the whole sink filled with soapy water. My method is to wash all the plates and stack them up, then rinse them all and put them on the rack to dry. Same with the other dishes.

Glasses 1rst, dishes 2nd, silver next than the pots and pans. Mom was adamant about the order.

My Dad was in charge of doing the dishes. His only requirements were to use water so hot you had to wear rubber gloves.
