I can't say I'm all that fond of the smell of horse manure ... the smell I like is when you hug a horse and you put your nose in their neck, right where it meets the shoulder, and it just smells like sun and sweat and hay and starlight and fall leaves and summer days ... that's the smell I miss!

I remember my mother had a particularly hair-trigger and strong auto-break - I am surprised I survived her efforts to keep me safe.
The one time we were in a collision she was rear-ended while stopped at a stop sign. I was in the very back - it was a hatchback and the space under the hatch door was a favorite ride location for us kids. We were all tossed around back there but managed to untangle ourselves with minimal damage.

I remember laying on the flat space above the back seat in a four door car while riding down the highway. Or putting pillows in each floorboard until it was comfortable to lay across the hump behind the front seats & sleep on long trips.

I remember before vehicles had cup holders & you could get the ultra cool console to put in the middle of a bench seat that had two places for drinks. Prior to that was the plastic cup holders that had a tab that fit between the window & door panel & the cup holder hung on the door. You could position it wherever you wanted it for easy access.

Can't you just see her grand kids (assuming she has some now) looking at reruns of the show? And hearing teenage boys discussing the show?
