I'm so old I Remember when:

I remember where I was standing and what I was doing when the announcement that JFK had been assassinated.
@LTAY1946 My husband also has a very clear recollection about President Kennedy being assassinated.
The Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas has an audio recording of my husband telling what he remembers.
I don’t remember how he found out about the Museum wanting people to tell about that day. You need to contact the Museum, I’m sure they will want you to record your memories.

Kids had to stay in the lobby. They were not allowed to visit patients.
I had forgotten this. But it was this way when my brother was in the hospital with my mom staying him. He was just starting to crawl when a pressure cooker blew up and burned him. It was 6 weeks or so before I saw him or mom after that. No visits to mom regardless of needs.

We were in the Gym for dance lessons. The music stopped and a phys ed teacher made the announcement and dismissed us for the day. I can picture in my mind where I was standing in the gym. The next time if there is a next time we get to Fort Worth to see family I would like to go to that museum.

Oh my goodness! How is your brother now?
Yes, the rules were strict and enforced.
And the medical profession did not have a lot of compassion for kids.
I hope your brother was treated well.
My brother was hit by a car, had both arms & torso in a cast. With no explanation they started cutting it off. My brother remembers that to this day because he thought the ‘saw’ was going to cut him.

I can get you the contact information for the man who is doing the audio project.
I felt like he appreciated getting the memory of someone who was a child at the time.

As a citizen of the U.S., your president signed it for you.
Oh I understand that but I still pay attention to what goes on my dinner table that I plant. Mexico made the deal about crows. Would their national people protect American birds eating their food supply? I really doubt it.

I'd like that. I may never get out of Alabama now. It's so hard to travel for both of us. Hard to get any one to care for our flocks too.

My brother passed with Alzheimer's a couple of years ago at the age of 69. He was 6 years younger than I. Sorely missed. We never got to do anything fun after he retired. I remember how older kids where told that the Stork brought babies home to parents. Glad your brother survived. :)

I remember when we went off the Gold Standard. I think Charles De Gaule was their head of state at that time and demanded that France get gold in payment for all the paper dollars in France. I think the going price for gold then was $35 a Troy ounce. That I'm not positive but is what I can remember now.
