I'm so old I Remember when:

I agree. I don't believe for a minute that it did any harm and probably did some good.
When I entered third grade we were taken from a 2 room school house to a consolidated school. First day, new school, new classmates - teacher left the room - I was picked up and stuffed butt first into the trash can. Just as the teacher returned I tipped the can and sprawled out on the floor. I refused to tell how I got in the can and received punishment. The plus side is that as 'the new kid' I was accepted into the group. That punishment sure did me some good. :gig

I really should investigate what they are worth.

$50! Yes should have held onto that! I should check the basement for my easy bake oven, and my other dolls and toys…
You're probably a bazillionaire and don't even know it!

The ground gets harder every year! Why I'm not doing ladders, or riding horses, any more. Mary
True that! I "fell" off a chair outside a couple years back, landed on my right shoulder, and a few months later had to have surgery for a torn rotator cuff.

I say "fell" but in actual fact the stupid chair broke. It was one of those '60's eras kitchen chairs made out of tubular steel and a couple of vinyl cushions and was outside in the go-away trash pile. I should have known it couldn't be trusted. I was using it in place of a step stool or ladder to drive a screw when it went sideways and collapsed. I now have a real step ladder for jobs like that.

I agree. I don't believe for a minute that it did any harm and probably did some good.
Agreed. It taught respect for authority and a little self-discipline. And, oh yes, a touch of humility. None of which ever did anyone any harm.

Not me. I could pick up two pbs stations, an abc, and cbs. Good weather would give me nbc and a second abc/cbs.

*Don't hold me to the broadcast network/s. Point being 6-8 channels was a good day.
We had 3. ABC, PBS, and CBS. But you had to go outside and turn the antenna different directions depending on which channel you were trying to watch. Thinking about that, I can still hear my dad hollering for me to go turn the antenna :)

I remember when this mobile phone was cool.
