I'm so old I Remember when:

Ok we will go with that 😁

I didn’t a somersault on a few occasions, usually at a fence refusal haha. But once when my horse was sliding down an embankment and stopped dead at the creek at the bottom - I did a complete somersault and landed on my fluffy butt in the creek - who knew horses could laugh 😁

Wow I can’t believe how long ago that was! The things this thread is having me remember 🄰
I was longeing a 3 yo grey gelding on a 30-foot long line while my then 13-yo daughter rode him to school him when he suddenly planted his front feet and put his head down, the little snit. She did a somersault about 8 or 10 feet in the air and stuck the landing, took my breath away! She looked at me, not sure whether to be scared or not. I threw both arms up in the air and went, "Ta-daaa!" Then she got back on him and rode the attitude out of him.

I remember when us boys were young and always on the go burning off food faster than our moms could cook it and we ate so much we were accused of having hollow legs. These days do kids burn off food l like that with video games?
Yea I remember rolling out of bed, heading o the lake, swimming out to the raft and starting to clean all the seagull crap off of it - I would stand on one corner and start to rock the raft till the corner would slosh under the water and wash over the raft - repeat with each corner, and then use our feet to slosh water to the centre to get the poop there. Many time we would slip and fall into the water mixes with all that poop, swallow lots of it also
:sick

Can’t ever remember being sick. Kids this day and age would be grossed out doing that !

Ya the best šŸ’•

I hate going back to the old house, it’s so built up at the lake now 😢😢😢 make me so sad this thing they call progress. It disgusts me how they have built on lovely farm land and cut the beautiful forests down to put up a Walmart or hardware store, or housing development 😟

I remember when we didn’t have huge super centres, and we had a small grocery store where you knew the owner.

I remember as a kid I could go into a local hardware store and get my reels worked on. I'd pay from a dime to 15Ā¢ for reel repair. Now I know that the parts cost more than that. So much has been lost in the name of progress.... The youth of today will never experience what want be told in history books.
