Ouch. added to my sore throat, I may need some help now.

You plan on going into the path of totality? Leave Friday and stay wherever it is until Tuesday
We plan to go to a friend's for that. We live only 8 or 9 hours away. Plan was to leave Sunday, but thinking about it, I hate the idea of leaving earlier, but it may be better. Gonna have to run this new-found source of knowledge by Mom.

I haven't heard anything about the eclipse over here. :idunno
But I sure hope we don't run out of gas!
Have not heard .... ?
Okay, there's going to be a total eclipse of the sun on Monday, THIS COMING MONDAY, April 8, 2024, , about 2 pm -ish. It's a very big deal, over I think 15 states from Texas to Maine? . Please Google it. It's going right over my house, from start to finish it will last about 4 hours but totality will be about 4 minutes for us. You have to have special glasses to see it or you can ruin your eyes for life (blindness!) But it is absolutely awesome to witness. We had another one back in 2017 and it was ... incredible. We won't have another one till 2044, I'll be 91 so I def want to see this one. THOUSANDS of people are coming to see it, even tens of thousands from all over the world. It's a bigger deal than Moony, sorry Moony!

It's good you won't have to travel to see it. You don't have to wear the glasses when it's at 100%.

Don't feel bad for Moony. After all, he's the one covering the sun.

That's true. But once the sun begins to peek out, you have to put them on again, quickly, and there's a real temptation to keep looking, just for a few seconds. It's .... addictive. So majestic.

He's Eclipsy? 🤔
