I'm so old I Remember when:

I'm so old I remember traveling on the old two lane roads up through the mountains between FL and Ohio. There were many drop offs going almost straight down on curves. As you would start rounding the cure someone had put up a hand written sign saying "Prepare to Meet Thy God". I'm imagine a lot of people did. This was the place where Moonshine was a popular beverage. Still was in the 60's I know for a fact.
Was this the Blue Ridge Parkway, perchance?

No. US 25 long before the Blue Ridge Parkway was built. At least I think. It was after the interstate highway system was started but not much of it was completed anywhere in the mountains. I think US 25 runs N & S east of there the Blue Ridge Parkway is. I wanted to do fall colors one year there but never made it happen.

My parents still use that exact blender, popcorn maker, salad bowl(with matching smaller bowls), and casserole dish. All of those are like old friends. Except the cakes, my mom would never buy store bought cake. It was always homemade. Anyone remember the orange Tubberware pitchers that our parents made Kool Aid in?

Yes, my mom had that except it was a yellow/beige color. That got chewed up by puppies, but I still have the old Osterizer blender and the old brown crock pot. They are ancient but still work.
