The lead singer in that song, Tony Burrows, did several popular songs of that era. My baby loves lovin' was one and Love grows where my Rosemary goes was another. Edison Lighthouse, I believe was the groups name.

The group was First Class which was actually a just a bunch of musicians pulled together by the songwriter for no other purpose than to record this one song. What astonishes me is that it was written by a young couple living in England. The lyricist said she'd never been to the beach but was inspired because she enjoyed reading the American magazine Seventeen in which a few articles featured a number of girls at the beach surfing and having fun. The duo wrote a number of songs for various artists including some fronted by Tony.
