I'm so old I Remember when:

I remember when Heinz invented purple ketchup... I have a bottle somewhere packed away for a souvenir. It didn't stay purple after a year or so. Not going to open it as then airborne cooties may come out and get me.
My step-dad told me that in the early 60s (I think), one of his coworkers had bought a calculator that did the four arithmetic functions. It was the size of a paperback book and cost $100. A fortune at the time.
My first pocket calculator only did 4 functions and cost $100
 
One thing that gets me is that no one uses the "cents" symbol. It's not even an option.
The cents symbol is not a standard keyboard option but it is available through different means depending on your OS. For Microsoft it is Alt 0162.

I had to learn back in the 90's how to use the © symbol while taking a digital photography class at a local community college and use it on assignments. Then I learned to use the ™ symbol for any new product name I thought up to make with my tools.
