I just don't use a tv.

I have that 60-inch "junk" tv from the curb, but I don't use it. I use the 24 inch TV, and its sole purpose as of now is to be a display to select music to listen to.

At the same time I had an I phone teathered to an I pad and my personal phone was Samsung. I would prefer apple for business cause it just works with desktop better, but the personal use I prefer the android. Just me. I feel iPad is made more for business. I coukd never get Android to work with desktop well due to all the proprietary operating systems

Android isn't really proprietary. What is is the software manufacturers put on top of it. There are so many different Android "distros" that it gets to be confusing.

iOS is a true proprietary system.

I'm feeling very grumpy over the stupid texts I keep getting from my dr telling me to go to the "portal" myHealthNet or some such and I really don't wanna. And they can't make me!

Just ignore it. If they ask, tell them you don't want to digitally manage your health.

I simply cannot stand smart TVs.

If you want one that isn't smart I think there are digital signage TVs, though they are expensive.

I have a 2013 smart TV sitting back here and it is the most I will tolerate, since the smartness is practically non-existent.

TV that essentially has apps/spyware built into it. Usually internet connected as well. The apps are usually streaming services, and the TV usually has some kind of spyware installed.

It's a real shame most consumer TVs are now smart TVs and you can't find good dumb ones unless you are willing to buy a TV meant for commercial use.

I've read all of the original Boxcar books. There are new ones going on from the original 19 (or 20, I can't remember), and you can see the times change from film cameras being mentioned, to memory cards, and then phones. I don't like the new ones with phones that much since it feels like all of the original charm of them being in the past is gone.
