I'm so old I Remember when:

I remember when men got what was considered bad language out of their system out behind the barn and not in the family room. :(
Was taught not to use "colorful" language around girls/women. Dad said it was a strong vocabulary for a weak mind. Still "check" myself to this day, although my nephew says no body can string them together like Uncle *****! :D

I remember that my dad had no problems approaching a man in public & insisting he watch his language in front of our family!

Once my mom was driving with me in the middle and my brother was sitting on the arm rest on the door panel so he was high enough to see out the windshield.
We went around a corner and the door popped open and out he went. I watched him cartwheel into the ditch. Mom stopped retrieved him. Gave him the once over while dusting him off. Back in the car he went and off we went.
I don't remember him sitting on or against the door ever again.
I know I shouldn’t laugh but been there done that!
