I'm so old I Remember when:

At one point last spring my doctors had me taking 2 types of morphine, oxycodone, gapabentin, methocarbamol, and fentanyl patches. I had a print out of what to take and when. But I was definitely not in pain anymore. I could've lopped off a limb and not noticed. Thankfully that was a temporary concoction. Now it's just tylenol. :)
Yes I am sure you would not have felt a limb lobbed off - and maybe floating a wee bit! I ammmm so glad you don’t have to have that anymore 💕❤️

.. bet you did! And dad did, too! :lau

I don't remember getting aspirin as a kid. Or cough syrup, either. If we got a sore throat, Dad would rub our chest and neck with Vick's VapoRub and tie one of his big handkerchiefs around our neck. It generated a soothing warmth and we'd sleep soundly. Vick's was good for "growing pains," or leg (calf) cramps too, along with the hanky tied around the leg. I'm not sure Dad knew any other treatments. Mom was off duty at night, we knew better than to disturb her.
Your dad sounds wonderful 😊

Oh, yes! I'd forgotten the "cures mosta what ails you" Vick's! Still good stuff.

Made me remember the vaporizers Mom would run in our rooms at night when we had stuffy colds, with some concoction they diffused into the moist air... I can still smell it in memory, but don't recall what it was. (1960s)
Menthol 💕

I used mint or peppermint in my vaporizer now.

Your dad sounds wonderful 😊
Yes, he was. Taught me how to fish. You catch it, you kill it, you clean it, you cook it, you eat it.

Sigh. I love fishing. I hate catching fish. Cannot stand the smell or taste. I would gladly walk a lake or stream with a bare hook, lol. :lau Yeah, I'm a weirdo.

Couldn’t you just throw back the fish you catch? When we were little we’d fish for pumpkinseeds or whatever you call them and whatever we did manage to catch always ended up back in the lake.
Guess I could, but ... why traumatize the little fellers?
