Being in nature. The sounds of birds and the river. Walking along the riverbank. Casting and reeling, 'cuz otherwise you're just aimlessly walking without purpose. With a rod in your hand you can stop and stay in one place for a few minutes and nobody looks at you like, what the heck are you up to? But ... I don't want to deal with no stinkin' slimy smelly fish.
