I'm so old I Remember when:

My sister knows a lady who makes reusable bags from feed sacks people give her. They're heavy duty, very well made, and just as kitchy as you please. She donates the proceeds to her local animal shelter.
I've made a few bags from chicken feed and dog food bags. After I unload the groceries, I put them back in the car. In the front seat.

And, yeah, I went into the store and forgot them once or twice!
Anyone else used the funny pages from the Sunday paper (our's were in color) to cover school books or wrap presents?
My uncle once wrapped a wedding gift in newspaper. (It was for a second cousin/niece/once removed, or something.) All that silver and white paper on that table... and the smeary newpaper. But everyone knew my uncle was a bit eccentric, and nobody cared. I don't recall what the gift was, but I sure remember the wrapping paper.
