No. US 25 long before the Blue Ridge Parkway was built. At least I think. It was after the interstate highway system was started but not much of it was completed anywhere in the mountains. I think US 25 runs N & S east of there the Blue Ridge Parkway is. I wanted to do fall colors one year there but never made it happen.

I worked behind a meat case when Porterhouse steak was 89¢ a pound.

My dog's and I are all salivating.

Yes, my mom had that except it was a yellow/beige color. That got chewed up by puppies, but I still have the old Osterizer blender and the old brown crock pot. They are ancient but still work.

They still work because the working parts are made of metal.

I remember the milk man delivering the milk in glass bottles into a metal box on our front stoop. The milk had cream on top!

I remember my very first job paying 75¢ an hour for pulling weeds out of flower beds for school teachers.

I remember when I was 12 years old keeping 2 small children for 50 cents per hour. This often included infants.

My father loved the mountains. Made that drive many times as a child and returned often as an adult.
