I'm so old I Remember when:

Do y'all count the end of summer as Labor Day or the Autumnal Equinox? Whenever I was in school way back when, it started the day after Labor Day so that was the signal. Sometime after becoming an adult, it's the Equinox for me but I've noticed a lot of people already think of it as fall even though it's August and the temps are still in the 90's.
Speaking of summer, here's another blast from the past. Can you believe this song is 51 this summer?!?

The lead singer in that song, Tony Burrows, did several popular songs of that era. My baby loves lovin' was one and Love grows where my Rosemary goes was another. Edison Lighthouse, I believe was the groups name.

Idk anything about the Autumnal Equinox so I don't go by that.
I don't know that I actually count the end of summer with Labor Day but that's pretty much the official ending of it here.
I have a kid so he counts it over whenever school starts back up.

It's the equinox. A holiday does not start a season. And that includes Memorial Day and summer

It's just the last day of summer. Sept 22 this year

When my life was governed by school, Memorial Day was the beginning of summer, Labor Day (start of school) was the end. Now those days are called "the unofficial start/end of summer" by the TV meteorologists.

June, July, August are my main garden months, which I equate with summer. The Solstice in June and the Equinox in September are markers for me too.

Summer for me is: Do I need any kind of hoodie/jacket when I go outside in the afternoon? No = summer. Yes = spring/fall or else a "what the heck? It's supposed to be summer!" day.

I always have a “it’s fall” feeling around September 1, or whenever school starts. But I would still not say fall begins now because the weather is hot enough to make someone believe it’s the middle of summer.
