I hate these "app only" deals. I think the apps are fine, so long as nothing is exclusive to them. I would personally never use these apps since I don't care for installing garbage on my phone. Not to mention I've done some mods that a lot of payment apps and store apps hate, meaning I can't use them.

I'm so old, I remember printing out 40% off coupons for the craft store, one per child, going in, buying the stuff, and walking out with a nice discount, all without a app.

(I think we were one of the reasons they quit doing that. Each child counted as a separate customer, therefore meaning we could break the system really easily).

My solution is to dig up the "junk phone" and put the garbage on there.

Idk if there's any way to stop that now days app or not.
I have limited cash in the system, either not enough credit or bad enough credit to not do anyone much good and a paper trail linked to me that'd make a fugitive jealous.

I've turned off location on my phone and removed access from several default apps. I do not access email on my phone either. My own credit is shot too. Heck, I no longer even receive spam calls!

Oh, and there's a kitty cat sticker over the camera in my laptop.

Pixel with GrapheneOS might be something worth looking into if you don't want to deal with default spy nonsense. Pretty much a very stripped down and reinforced Android with privacy features so you can still have the Play Store without it spying.
