I got my first white collar job when those were phasing out. Now when credit systems go down, everything halts. I used to be able to say "get out your manual imprinter"

Party lines were another thing I caught the tail end of. When going "online" meant calling the local number for a teledating service.

Well,
It was a dark and rainy night (really was), I was laying in bed watching TV. Web TV was sitting on top the TV and the TV was in one of those 90s era entertainment centers. Window behind my head, TV against wall opposite of window. There was a good bit of lightening and thunder. Lights were off all if a sudden there was a very bright flash and the loudest boom I ever heard, felt it too. The web TV fell in Front of the TV hanging by the cords and smoking. Lost 3 tvs and the web TV. Scared the daylights out of me. I guess it didn't actually but I swear it's like the lightning came into the window! Man, it was so loud and bright. The flash was blinding
