I remember using a floppy disk, having dial-up internet, and my mom picking up the phone every time it was almost loaded . The good old yellow pages and actually having to know how to read a map.

I remember Dagwood and his sandwich. As latch-key kids my brother and I would make and eat the most absurd "Dagwood sandwiches". That's where I developed my love for a peanut butter and butter sandwich. And sour cream and onion chips on roast beef sandwiches.

No idea what a Kimbo freckle is but I totally enjoyed Barnum and Bailey's circus.
I also very much enjoyed:

• the Shriner circus
• the Shriners in their mini cars in parades
• the carnival that came to town each summer
• the county fair
• the state fair
• parades for every major holiday
• school field trips
• Christmas forests
• Halloween mazes

Let's face it, there was and in some cases still is, much better entertainment than can be found on any electronic device.

Oh yeah, we’ll I’m so old I remember needing to use an actual paper phone book and an actual paper road atlas.

Wish I could still find paper atlases and road maps! Grr when google maps drcides that routing me through a zillion cornfields is more efficient than staying on the interstate! We've had to re-route a school bus and a 90-foot Winnebago out of our dead-end property that got lost here due to stupid MspQuest or GoogleMaps!

I don't think the quantum thing is going to be working that well for a while.

I have my backups all self-hosted. I need to make a solution so I can have the backup in alternate location, and that's probably going to have to be done manually.

What I'm refering to are bad actors, rogue states, and China breaching the deepweb (the corporate web for those who don't know) downloading everything they can in order to decrypt it all later (about 10 years from now)

Then once they have what they need leak the rest online.
